What is the Elevate People PRoject?

The Elevate People Project is an initiative focused on creating long-term, sustainable change through locally led solutions.

We don’t believe in temporary aid. We believe in equipping people.

By providing business training, seed funding, and ongoing mentorship, we help local leaders turn their ideas into income-generating businesses—creating ripple effects that impact families, villages, and entire communities.

What This Looks Like

No two communities are the same—and neither are the businesses that come from them.

Across the regions we serve, local leaders are building businesses rooted in the resources, skills, and opportunities around them. From fruit stands and taxi services to chicken farms, peanut farming, barber shops, beautician training, electrical work, pottery, and leather shops—each business reflects the unique needs and strengths of its community.

These aren’t one-size-fits-all solutions. They are locally led, practical, and built to last.

This is the model we’ve replicated hundreds of times—creating sustainable income, strengthening families, and fueling long-term change from within.

Aarna & Solma

Aarna is a recently widowed mother in a small village in South Asia.

In her village, widows are often blamed for their husbands' passing. Because of this, Aarna was severely beaten and left with physical and mental health issues that made it difficult to care for her little baby, Solma.

That's where our leather artisans stepped in to take action. Since they were empowered by the resources generated by their small business, when they heard of Aarna's situation, they were in a position to make a profound difference for her and baby Solma.

They were able to arrange for Aarna to receive medical care from a neurologist and to begin her recovery. Today, Aarna is empowered and provides for herself and her daughter with a small business of her own.

When you support Elevate by purchasing leather or donating, you empower the next generation of Aarnas & Solmas to create a better life for themselves and their families.
